Eating disorders are serious and often fatal illnesses that cause severe disturbances to a person’s eating behaviors, likely shown through obsessions with food, body weight, or shape. Eating disorders are a mental health disorder that may involve physical health signs and symptoms. However, many people suffering from eating disorders show no discernable physical signs and appear to be healthy. In fact, eating disorders look different for each person and may need the help of professional to accurately diagnose.
